What We Do
Our first priority at KHAKY is to the patients who already face the challenges of kidney disease.
We help our communities learn more about chronic kidney disease (CKD) and work to identify those with CKD in the earliest possible stages. We want to help save kidneys and stop the progression of kidney disease.
Helping our renal healthcare workers across the state is also an important part of what we do. Providing networking and professional development opportunities helps ensure our renal healthcare workers are the best they can be.
A kidney transplant is a new lease on life for those with kidney disease. We need more kidneys! We promote living kidney donation and organ donor registration to help meet the need of over 700 patients waiting for a transplant in Kentucky.
We are hard at work in the cities and towns of Kentucky in the fight against kidney disease. It’s all about neighbors helping neighbors.
